Rodent Control in Gaithersburg
Gaithersburg’s Rat and Mouse Removal Team
Hearing something scurry through the wall at two in the morning has a way of ruining your night fast, and it means the problem has had time to build before you noticed it. Gaithersburg has seen more of these rodent calls lately, especially from neighborhoods backing up to wooded lots and newer developments still settling in.
Senate Termite & Pest Control has helped properties throughout Gaithersburg deal with rodents for more than 35 years. We know what an active infestation looks like, where mice and rats tend to travel, and why putting down a few traps may leave the actual problem untouched. When you’re worried about rodents around the property, our team knows where to start looking.

Winning Gaithersburg’s Vote for Dependable Rodent Defense
A gap the width of a pencil is all it takes for a mouse to get inside, which is why excluding a house against rodents is a lot more detailed than most people expect going in. Senate Termite & Pest Control treats that detail work as the actual job instead of an afterthought.
What comes with hiring Senate Termite & Pest Control for rodent control:
- Full property inspection – We check the attic, crawl space, and foundation line for entry points, since rodents often use more than one access spot.
- Custom exclusion plan – Every home gets a plan built around what we find, since sealing the wrong gap leaves the real entry point wide open.
- Multiple removal methods – Depending on the property, we use secured bait stations, snap traps, or burrow treatment to clear an active population.
- Attic cleanup after infestation – If rodents have contaminated attic insulation, we remove the affected material and sanitize the space before it's replaced.
- Two-week follow-up visit – We come back to confirm the exclusion work is holding and activity has stopped.
- Saturday appointments – Scheduled around your week instead of asking you to rearrange it.
This combination is what separates actual rodent control from simply reacting to the last place you saw a mouse. Senate Termite & Pest Control has been doing this work across the DMV since 1991, so you can trust us to use proper IPM methods that eliminate rodent activity and discourage future possible infestations.

Where Gaithersburg Rodents Hide
You may never see a mouse or rat during the day and still have a very active infestation. Montgomery County notes that rats and mice commonly leave evidence through droppings, gnawing, runways, nests, odors, and other signs, with rats often burrowing around foundations and mice frequently nesting indoors.
Look for clues such as:
- Scratching or scurrying sounds after dark
- Droppings along walls, inside cabinets, or in storage areas
- Gnaw marks on food packaging, wood, plastic, or wiring
- Nesting material tucked into quiet spaces
- Greasy marks where rodents repeatedly travel
- Burrows near foundations, sheds, landscaping, or other sheltered areas
- A sudden unexplained odor coming from walls or enclosed spaces
Finding one of these signs does not tell you how many rodents are present or how they are getting inside. That is where a professional inspection becomes useful. Our technicians at Senate Termite & Pest Control can follow the evidence instead of making assumptions, then determine whether trapping, baiting, exclusion, attic work, or a combination of methods makes sense for the property.
Time to Close the Door on Rodents
A rodent problem left alone tends to get more expensive, not less, the longer it sits behind your walls chewing through wiring and insulation. Senate Termite & Pest Control has cleared these problems out of homes across Gaithersburg for more than three decades, and there's not much left here we haven't already seen play out somewhere else.
